The Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abbas (Admiralty Medal), has commissioned a Special Intervention Quick Impact Project at Mayo-Belwa Central Primary School, Mayo-Belwa Local Government Area, Adamawa State, on Thursday, 7 May 2026.

The project comprised six blocks of renovated classrooms, newly constructed toilets, a solar-powered lighting system, tables, chairs, and learning materials. The intervention was executed in honour of the Navy Secretary, Rear Admiral Abdulhamid Baba-Inna, as a way of giving back to his hometown and the people of Mayo-Belwa Local Government Area.

In his address, the Chief of the Naval Staff, who was represented by the Director of Veteran Affairs, Rear Admiral Raheem Taofeeq, explained that the project aligns with the Nigerian Navy’s Corporate Social Responsibility programme under the Chief of the Naval Staff Special Intervention Quick Impact Project, and supports the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda. He added that the initiative serves as an avenue for the Nigerian Navy to honour its accomplished senior officers.

On his part, the Special Guest of Honour, His Royal Highness Alhaji Dr Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Mustafa, represented by Ardo Bamanga Dalil, appreciated the Chief of the Naval Staff for the milestone project. Ardo Dalil further described the project as a kind gesture that would go a long way in contributing to the development of the primary education system in Mayo-Belwa Local Government Area.

The project facilitator, Rear Admiral Abdulhamid Baba-Inna, expressed profound gratitude to the Chief of the Naval Staff for providing the platform for the intervention and giving him the opportunity to contribute to the development of his hometown.



The historic commissioning ceremony brought together distinguished personalities, including Adamawa State Government officials, senior military officers, heads of paramilitary agencies, and traditional rulers.
