The Apapa Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service
(NCS) has upgraded its Information Communication Technology (ICT) facilities
just as it also trained some maritime reporters on various operations of the
service, to better equip the journalists with technical knowledge for better
reportage of the service.

Speaking at the opening of the two-day workshop, which held at the command’s
ICT Centre, the controller of the command,
Charles Edike, said the workshop for the journalists was necessary and
important, to enable them have a better understanding of the customs operations
and in return, report their activities accurately.
“We are giving journalists the training to enable them

Edike noted that the demands of modern customs

ultra-modern ICT centre and a 160m Communication Tower to address the issue of
network failure, which often happened during rainstorms.
