Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, has appointed Mr. Bode Ojajuni, an
Assistant Commissioner of Police, as the Chairman, Lagos State Archery Association.
The
letter of appointment dated October 16, 2018
and signed by the Chairman, Lagos State Sports
Commission, Mr. Adedayo Tandoh, also stated that the appointment was for a
period of four years.
Gov.
Ambode noted
that Ojajuni, who is the Principal Staff Officer to the Inspector General of
Police was appointed as a result of his interest and contributions to sports
development in the State. The
Governor, in the letter, urged Ojajuni to be committed in the discharge of his
duties as the chairman of the association, and added that “Please note that the
appointment is a voluntary service.”
Accepting the
appointment and expressing appreciation, Ojajuni said: “I appreciate
the honour and recognition by Lagos
State Government. My association
will strive to
popularise the sport and take it to the greatest height locally, while Lagos team appearance at the Olympics is the
ultimate.”
