Prince Adewale Adeyanju, the Chairman Global, International Transport Workers Federation (ITF) and Deputy President, Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), has congratulated Comrade Sunday Avoseh on his reelection as the President of the Seamen Branch of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN).
Adeyanju also extended same congratulatory message to Comrade Alex Bamidele Ajayi, who emerged victorious unopposed during the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) Branch election of the MWUN.
It would be recalled that the seamen branch of the Union was held in the oil city of Warri, where Comrade Avoseh’s reelection was held without opposition or rancor.
The former President -General of the Union, Prince Adeyanju, showered encomiums on his successor, Comrade Francis Bunu Abi, for his precise timing of the Union’s elections and choice of venues and locations.
He also praised the past president of the NPA Branch, Comrade Mazeli Edward Ifeanyi, for his tenacity and resilience through the period of his eight years tenure in office, with the ceremonious manner with which he handed the reign of leadership to his successor, Comrade Ajayi of the Nigerian Ports Authority.
Comrade Adeyanju also admonished all the reelected and elected executives of both branches to be committed in their various designations, and to support their presidents towards efficiency and growth of the Union branches and for the Maritime Workers Union in general.
He commended all the delegates of the Union’s elections, thanking them for the orderly manner in which they conducted themselves in all four branches of the Union, while congratulating the PG of MWUN for a job well done in all the elections.
