a new 40- member Council that will pilot its affairs.

Chidiebere Enelamah while addressing journalists at the association
headquarters in Apapa yesterday said the new NEC was set up to restructure,
reform and enhance administrative competence.

He said the 40 officers will run their
appointed positions for some time before an election would be conducted next
year noting that the new administration will be a transitional one.

He advised the new officers to strive to
serve and showcase themselves in their new positions with a view to
re-positioning the association.

Nweke advised the new NEC and members of the association to shun corrupt
practices noting that an anti-corruption committee has been set up by the
association to address any issue bordering on corruption.

Speaking on behalf of the officers,
newly appointed Deputy President of the association, Oluwole Adeyemi pledged
that all the executives would work hard in the discharge of their
responsibilities.

He also promised that the newly
appointed officers would work to increase the association’s membership, conduct
training and retraining of their members and also work to improve on the issue
of welfare especially on insurance for members.

his part said the association is expanding its spread having commenced full
operations at Katsina border.

He urged members to always see freight
forwarding as a profession and should therefore work towards upgrading
themselves by undertaking training related to transport and logistics
