Twelve ships are waiting to
discharge petroleum products at Apapa and Tin-Can Island Ports in Lagos.
The Nigerian Ports Authority
(NPA) stated this in its daily publication – `Shipping Position’, which was made
available to newsmen in Lagos.
The document indicated that 10 of
the ships were waiting to berth with petrol, while others would berth with bulk
gas and aviation fuel.
It stated that 32 ships laden with
petroleum products, food items and other goods were expected to arrive the
ports from Jan. 8 to Jan. 24.
NPA stated that the expected
ships contained general cargoes, buck wheat, containers, fresh fish, bulk
charcoal, bulk sugar, ethanol, empty containers, diesel, steel products and
petrol.
Twenty-one other ships are at the
ports discharging buck wheat, general cargoes, bulk fertiliser, bulk sugar,
bulk rice, bulk gypsum, containers and petrol.
