Speaking at the commencement of the
Project recently, the Club’s President, Rotarian Rotarian Isichei Osamgbi, who
led a delegation to the Eye Foundation Clinic, GRA, Ikeja, said the treatment
was to support the patients to regain their sight in order to continue living
like every other person in the society.

He urged similar humanitarian
organisations and government to show some more sense of responsibility to its
people by providing discounted or free Cataract Eye treatment or similar
gestures to the people.

He said: “Our duty in Rotary is to see
how we can impact and improve on people’s lives and make life easier for the
less privileged”. Rotarian Osamgbi further urged Rotarians not to relent in
their good work towards humanity and thanked the management of the Eye
Foundation Clinic for their support as well as members of the Club.

The Project Coordinator and a member
of the Club, Rotarian Dr. Adebowale Omole, urged the patients to follow up on
the treatment and abide by the doctor’s prescription, saying that the Club has
taken all the burdens of providing the treatment in partnership with the Eye
Foundation Clinic in the spirit of Rotary humanitarianism.

The Eye Doctor, Dr Alarape Taofik,

were in need of medical attention and promised that every patient within the
Project scope will be attended to.
