A statement from Dangote Group said the participants in the
Conference, particularly distributors and marketers were interested in finding
out how to get supply once the refinery begins operation.

The refinery is located at Lekki, Lagos and has capacity for
650,000-barrel-per-day refinery.
The Ghanaian government, according to the statement said it
was better for African countries to import fuel from Dangote refinery than
relying on the international market for such products.
“We will rather purchase from the Dangote Refinery due to the
proximity of the refinery to Ghana and other neighbours.”
President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo, who was represented by
the Vice President, Mahamud Bawumia was reported to have said that African
countries were waiting for Dangote refinery.
Mahamud Bawumia and Minister of Energy, Boakye Agyarko were
said to have been excited about the size of the refinery when they visited the
Dangote oil exhibition stand during the conference.
