In barely one day of assuming office as the Customs Area Controller of the Apapa Port Command, Comptroller Emmanuel Oshoba has hit the bull’s eye in a daily revenue collection, with a promise to build on the successes of his predecessor.
On Tuesday, 9 September 2025, the Command recorded a revenue collection of ₦20,156,077,098.56, the highest daily figure ever achieved by any command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) using the Unified Customs Management System (UCMS), popularly known as B’Odogwu.
The new record surpasses the previous ₦18 billion peak, underscoring Oshoba’s resolve to meet and exceed the command’s revenue targets, as he emphasized during his maiden address on Monday.
Shortly after resuming duty, Comptroller Oshoba met with senior officers of the command, commending their past achievements while urging them to raise their level of productivity. He stressed that tangible results remain the true proof of hard work, dedication, and integrity.
Reacting to the ₦20.1 billion milestone, Oshoba described it as only the beginning of greater accomplishments, insisting that it was not yet time for celebration.
“I commend my team and stakeholders for this great milestone of ₦20.1 billion in one day, just 24 hours after I resumed here. But this is not the time to clap because clapping means removing your two hands from work. Let’s leave celebration for the future, when we achieve more by surpassing targets, curbing smuggling attempts, and facilitating trade speedily without compromising integrity,” he said.
He further noted that the deployment of B’Odogwu is essential in modernizing customs operations and strengthening Nigeria’s position as Africa’s largest economy through efficient trade facilitation.
The new CAC urged officers to sustain the momentum and called on stakeholders to remain compliant, stressing that their collective efforts were positively impacting the Nigerian economy.
