Master mariners mourn passing of Otunba Kunle Folarin
President of the Nigerian Association of Master Mariners (NAMM), Captain Tajudeen Alao, has joined other maritime stakeholders in mourning the passing away of Otunba Kunle Folarin, who until his death was Chairman of the Nigerian Ports Consultative Council and Chairman of the National Seafarers Welfare Board.
Otunba Folarin passed away on Tuesday in Lagos, aged 82 years.
In a terse message, Capt. Alao described the late Folarin as “A father figure to all in the maritime industry.
“Otunba Kunle Folarin was servant of Maritime Industry and dedicated over five decades of his working life to the maritime practice .
“His passing has left a vacuum that will be difficult to fill, except by God’s intervention, especially now that the industry is facing many challenges that require thinking out of the box.
“May God comfort the family left behind. Of course, we will miss him in the industry.”
