Customs at Seme Border get scanner donation from EU

The Customs operations at the Seme Border including the
Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) and the Beninoise Customs have taken delivery of
a new cargo scanner for the Station.

The scanner was donated by the European Union for joint border use.
The Controller, Seme Area Command of the NCS, Comptroller Muhammed Uba, told
 onTuesday that the scanner
was already being test-run.
Uba also said that the scanner would be maintained by the Economic Community of
West African States (ECOWAS) for two years.
He disclosed that officers of the two countries had undergone training on how
to use the scanner, particularly on how to read images.
The Controller also told
newsmen that his Command recorded N2.7 billion as revenue and seizures in the
months of March and May.
