Nlekwuwa preaches ‘fresh focus’ for youths as Olivet Bible Church lays new foundation

Pastor Owen Nlekwuwa, Senior Pastor, Olivet  Bible Church

Senior
Pastor of the Olivet Bible Church, Festac Town Lagos, Owen Nlekwuwa, has called
for a “fresh focus” for the Nigerian youth.

Nlekwuwa
made the call at a news briefing at the weekend, ahead of the church foundation
laying ceremony for its “Inspiration Centre” scheduled for Saturday, May 13 in
Festac Town.

Describing
the youths as “precious and key to a sustained society” Pastor Nlekwuwa said
the church and society at large owes the youths, to help them on the path to
follow.

The cleric said
that in that vein, the Olivet Bible Church holds the youths dear in its
ministry.

He said: “The
tomorrow of any nation is in what it gives to its youths and how it helps to
mould the youths.

“For us, our
ministry is strongly focused on the youths, and for that, we have a lot of
productive engagements for the youths, especially within our immediate
environment.
“The youths
must be given sound education because it is critical to shaping their thought
processes, and giving them a direction.”

Nlekwuwa, however,
said that the church needs to emphasize the relationship with Jesus Christ, and
emphasize morals as that would help the youths in every other thing.

Olivet Bible
Church has continued with programmes emphasizing education and skill acquisition
for young people.

“When the
mind is positively engaged and well educated it finds it easy to eliminate some
other things that are viruses,” the Cleric said.

On the
foundation laying ceremony, Pastor Nlekwuwa said that friends of the church
including Apostle Alexander Bamgbola, and Jake Epelle  among others are expected for the day’s
activities.
