The Nigeria Customs
Service has given out 32,576 bags of rice, 1,794 kegs of vegetable oil, 329
bales of used clothes and other relief materials to some orphanages in Ogun
State and other South-West communities.

The Service disclosed
that some of the beneficiaries of the largesse include Little Saints, Raco
Child, Vigilant Heart, Jesus Kids and Stella Obansanjo Children’s Home.

exercise is in line with a presidential directive aimed at bringing succour and
ameliorating the plight of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and orphans.

According to Yakubu, 134
orphanages with a total of 7,350 orphans in Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo and
Ekiti states have received relieved materials from the Customs Service.

of the various orphanages have to duly sign landing certificates as they receive the items, to ensure transparency and ascertain that the items get to those
they are meant for.
