The Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, Bode Ojajuni, has ordered an immediate manhunt for a man identified simply as Kola over allegations that he sexually assaulted a 17-year-old boy on three occasions and threatened him into silence.
The Ogun State Police Command said the teenager, accompanied by his parents, formally reported the alleged assaults at the Adigbe Police Division at about 5 p.m. on September 8, 2026.
According to the complaint, the alleged incidents occurred on three separate occasions in January 2026.
Police said the teenager alleged that Kola sexually assaulted him and subsequently threatened him, allegedly preventing him from speaking about the incidents until the matter was reported this week.
Following the complaint, police took the teenager to a hospital in the Adigbe area for medical examination as detectives opened an investigation.
The suspect, however, is currently at large.
Ojajuni has consequently directed detectives to intensify efforts to track down and arrest him as the investigation gathers momentum.
The Command clarified that although the alleged assaults reportedly occurred in January, the matter was not brought to the attention of the police until September 8.
Police Public Relations Officer for the Command, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, said the allegation was being handled with urgency and sensitivity.
“The Command assures the public that the allegation is receiving urgent, professional and sensitive investigation,” Babaseyi said.
He added that the Command remained committed to protecting children and other vulnerable persons.
Police have yet to disclose further details about the suspect or the circumstances surrounding the alleged assaults.
The allegations against Kola remain accusations at this stage, and no finding of guilt has been made.
