The Chairman of Nigerian Ports Consultative Council (NPCC), Mr. Bolaji Sunmola, is currently giving Nigeria a remarkable representation at the ongoing 113th annual International Labour Conference of the International Labour Organization (ILO).

Sunmola, who doubles as President of the National Association of Stevedoring Companies (NASC), is in company of several international delegates in Geneva, Switzerland at the summit holding from June 2nd to June 13th, 2025.
Global topical issues to be addressed at the summit include; “Biological hazards at work” with a second discussion on proposed international standards for protecting workers; “Decent work in the platform economy” where a first standard-setting debate will be held to ensure fair treatment for gig workers.

“Innovative approaches to tackling informality” to feature discussions on how to transition from informal to formal employment sectors; “Maritime Labour Conventions (MLC)” by reviewing the MLC and proffering changes to the Convention.
The global conference is also tipped to examine the ILO’s contribution to the 2025 World Summit for Social Development.
