The Nigerian Ports
Authority (NPA) is offering 10 per cent discount in its harbour dues for
terminals in the eastern ports including Calabar, Rivers and Delta, as a
strategy to encourage patronage of the ports.

The General Manager,
Corporate and Strategic Communications, Engr. Jatto Adams, was quoted to have
said in a statement that the offer became effective with immediate effect.
The statement noted that
the discount would apply only to harbour dues paid on “vessels/cargoes:
Container vessels with at least 250 TEUs, General Cargo vessels with at least
16,000 MTCombo Vessels with at least 16,000 MTRORO Vessels with at least 250
units of vehicles.”

The authority also stated that vessels that
coming without cargoes or calling at private jetties or vessels with liquid
bulk cargo would not be granted the discount.
