Remi Itie elected first female president of maritime editors’ league

The League of Maritime Editors and Publishers (LOME) have elected Mrs. Remi Itie as its first female president.

In a keenly-contested election which took place on Thursday in Lagos, Mrs. Itie who publishes Pathway Magazine will lead the team of other executive members of the association.

Elected into other positions include; Mr Friday Odoemena – Vice President, Mr Felix Kumuyi – Secretary, Chief Okey Iroegbu – Assistant Secretary, Mr. Tony Ohakwe – Treasurer, Mr. Godwin Obi – Financial Secretary, Mr. Shola Mekusi – Welfare Officer, and Mr. Francis Ugwoke – Public Relations Officer.

Mrs. Itie and Mr. Eddie Iroha contested for the position of President, while Mr. Godwin Obi and Mr. Eguono Odjegba contested for the position of Financial Secretary. Other members of the executive were elected unopposed.

In her acceptance speech, Mrs. Itie promised to give her best in serving the association for the next two years, as she extended a hand of fellowship to all.
