The Nigeria Police Force in Ogun State has presented cheques totaling ₦30,552,851.16 to the families of officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.
The cheques were presented on Thursday by the Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, Tunji Disu, during activities marking the fourth day of the 2026 Police Week celebration.

Speaking at the event held in Abeokuta, Ojajuni said the gesture was aimed at honouring the sacrifices made by officers who paid the ultimate price while serving the nation, while also providing financial support to their bereaved families.
He noted that the initiative reflects the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to the welfare of its personnel and the families they leave behind.

According to him, the presentation of the cheques also reinforces the enduring bond between the Force and its officers, both serving and fallen.

The event formed part of activities commemorating 2026 National Police Day, which celebrates the dedication and service of police officers across the country.
