The Managing Director of Integrated Oil & Gas Ltd., Mr. Uche Iheanacho, was attending the Mariners’ Forum, one of the programmes by the Waterside Centre Nigeria, for the first time, though the event was the second in the series.
“My hope for the Centre is that it will be a place for people in the maritime sector to feel safe, have a place to discuss and share ideas and engage with stakeholders. Of course, it will include people in the oil and gas, as they both work closely,” he said.
He is excited that the Chairman of the Centre, Captain Emmanuel Iheanacho, who is his father, thought of giving back to society by supporting this initiative.
“It happened that I was having some discussions with the Chairman, who is also my father, about two weeks ago, on the issue of legacy. Of course, he is well-known within the oil and gas, and the shipping sectors anywhere you have a gathering of industry people.
“As we talked about a good idea of having something that has to do with shipping, incidentally, he was also having discussions with Madam Hope for something related, to see that this Centre comes to fruition,” Iheanacho said.
The Waterside Centre Nigeria has the support of Integrated Oil & Gas Ltd., and looks forward to partnering with the initiative. “We are here as partners. We want to be part of the discussions. We are glad that Engr. Chris Mbata is a Marine engineer and keeps good stand on both sides,” he added.
