Nigerian Navy Welfare: CNS provides bungalow for widow of fallen hero

The Nigerian navy has provided a 2 Bedroom Semi-Detached Bungalow at Navy Estate Karshi Abuja, to the widow of a fallen hero who is also a Leading Seaman.

The Navy, in a statement, said that the gesture to the widow of the fallen hero is in line with the vision of the Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla, to provide succor for families of fallen heroes of the Service.

The fallen hero, Leading Regulator Suleiman MK, was a distinguished personnel of the Nigerian Navy, who sacrificed his life in service to the nation under Operation WHIRL STROKE in Niger State on 13 August 2023.

For the presentation, the CNS was represented by the Director Veteran Affairs, Rear Admiral Mohammed Yakubu Dahiru, who stated that such initiatives would be sustained to ensure that no one is left behind.

The navy reiterated that “the gesture underscores the importance attached to personnel welfare especially provision of accommodation by the CNS.”

It recognises the bravery and the sacrifices of its personnel in the face of battles as the “bedrock upon which national security is built.”

For Vice Admiral Ogalla, this measure of extraordinary sacrifices by military personnel is worthy of rewards that would comfort their loved ones.

This vision, the navy noted, also drives decisions that are building “a highly motivated professional naval force capable of shaping security outcomes within the nation’s maritime domain including land-based engagements in fulfilment of Nigeria’s national interest.”
