The Online Maritime Media Association of Nigeria (OMMAN) has congratulated the new Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority, Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho, and the Board Chairman, Senator Adedayo Adeyeye, on their new appointments.
A statement by the President of the association, Elder Dele Aderibigbe, applauded the appointments as well charged both executives on the importance of service to the nation as required.
The group urged the new executives to evaluate and address existing needs, particularly infrastructural deficits, in order to create the desired ease of doing business at the nation’s ports.
Aderibigbe, however, expressed confidence that Dr. Dantsoho’s background in the NPA would enable him appreciate the needs for effective service delivery and the best approach to navigate it.
OMMAN notes that industry expectations of the new MD are high, considering his years of experience and management capacity including being the Port Manager at Onne amongst other positions.
The body is however most gratified that not only had Dantsoho rose through the ranks, he equally functioned in the most relevant operational areas, which encompassed policy conceptualisation, goals implementation and mandates delivery, since as far back as 2013.
