Tin-Can Customs Command collects N716bn revenue in 2023, targets N1.130 trn for 2024
The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Tin-Can Island Command, on Tuesday set a revenue target of N1.130trn for the 2024 fiscal year.
The Command also announced a revenue generation of N716bn for 2023 as against 801bn target it had set.
The Area Controller, Comptroller Dera Nnadi who briefed newsmen, expressed optimism of meeting up with the new revenue target.
Nnadi said the Command is determined to meet the new revenue target, explaining that it would mean generating about N94.2bn every month.
On the performance in 2023, he disclosed that the Command had embarked on capacity building for officers as well as the stakeholders to be able to achieve desired target.
He said that the deployment of ICT was very useful as it optimized efficiency in the performance of the Command.
Nnadi commended the officers and stakeholders for their various roles.
He added that the 2024 has been tagged as a year of the stakeholders in apparent recognition of their roles in revenue generation.
He warned that the Service would not fail to deal with those who choose to go against trade regulations.
The Controller stressed the need for Nigerians to embrace export trade as imperative for the survival of the national economy.
He promised that the Command would continue to see that stakeholders as partners in progress, adding that regular engagement would get priority attention in order to promote trade facilitation.
