Group seeks prayers for Nigeria’s Armed Forces, other security agencies
A group, Prayer and Support For the Nigerian Armed Forces and other Security Agencies (PSNAFSA), has called on Nigerians to pray for the nation’s Armed Forces and other security agencies as the year draws to a close.
Speaking at a press conference in Ikeja, Lagos, convener of the group, Ambassador Mary Abayomi-Fatile, said the call for prayers was necessitated by the security agencies’ tireless fight against terrorism and other violent crimes in the country.
She said, “Come rain, come shine, these people are there. As I speak, these military personnel are in the trenches, jungles and creeks fighting against crimes and criminality to protect us and the nation’s assets.
“Some of them have not gone home for years let alone seeing their loved ones.”
Fatile, therefore, appealed to Nigerians to always show love rather than castigating them.
“It would be nice to also extend love to families of these security personnel.
“In the United States of America, security agents are celebrated and honoured,” she added.
She expressed condolences to traditional rulers and people of Tudun Biri community in Igabi Local Government area of Kaduna State, who lost their loved ones.
She also prayed that the Almighty God would comfort them and heal the wounded ones.
Fatile appreciated the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, and the Service Chiefs, for their good work in the onslaught against insurgency since they assumed office, expressing optimism that with the efforts put in place, insecurity would be tackled.
