The Nigeria Customs Service said a government warehouse at the Ikorodu Lighter Terminal, Lagos, has enough space to accommodate up 9,000 containers.
This is contained in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Zonal Public Relations Officer, Uche Ejesieme.
According to the statement, the Zonal Coordinator in charge of Custosm Zone A, Adeyanju Aremu, stated this when she visited the facility.
“As part of the oversight function of the Zonal Coordinator, Zone A to the facilities under her supervision, the ACG on Wednesday 5 October 2022, embarked on a working visit to Ikorodu Customs warehouse for an on-the-spot assessment of the general conditions of the warehouse.
“This is coming on the heels of some insinuations in the media space which erroneously indicated that the facility is filled to the brim, and therefore can no longer be readily available for deposition of overtime/seized goods.
“The facility can comfortably accommodate about 9,000 containers and other general goods,” he said.
