NDLEA arrests two over attempts to export illicit drugs to US, UAE
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested two suspects over attempts to export controlled and illicit drugs to the United States of America and United Arab Emirates.
The suspects were identified as Kandigu Kadi, a Congolese but based in Nigeria and another Nigerian. Makowulu Anthony were arrested at the NAHCO and SAHCO export sheds of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
In a statement by the spokesman of the agency, Femi Babafemi, the suspects were arrested on May 31 and June 3.
The statement said Kadi was arrested on May 31st, at the NAHCO export unit with 2.1 kilogrammes of pentazocine injection for export.
The other suspect, Makowulu was arrested on June 3 with parcels of cannabis sativa which he concealed in cereals packs to Dubai, UAE.
Babafemi said investigations showed that the pentazocine consignment was for Kinshasa, Congo, while 200 bottles of pentazocine injection seized a week earlier at the airport were to be exported to US
Makowulu on the other hand was arrested with eight parcels of cannabis weighing 2.9 kilogrammes concealed in Nutribom Cereals cartons.
