As the world marks the 2020 International Labour Day, appreciation have come from the National Association of Master Mariners (NAMM) and the National Seafarers Welfare Board of Nigeria (NSWBN) respectively to the seafarers and workers in the maritime industry.
The workers have been appreciated for their commitment to work to ensure that they keep world trade active by running the ports and moving the ships at sea.
From the President of the NAMM, Capt. Tajudeen Alao, the message read: “Master Mariners Association also salute all workers on this Labour Day. We appreciate contributions of maritime workers to gross domestic production of global economy.”
Chairman of the Nigerian Seafarers Welfare Board, Otunba Kunle Folarin’s message to the seafarers reads: “I want to, on this very important celebration of the Workers Day, salute all the workers in Shipping and the Ports Industries for their hard-work and sacrifices to keep the world trade going.
“The Seafarers who are the carriers of the world trade are appreciated, and to the leaders of the workers and their employers, we say thank you.”
