The Commissioner of Police, Lagos Command, Hakeem Odumosu, has commended some of his officers for their beautiful act of service to humanity and going the extra mile to doing so.
CP Odumosu actually gave his commendations to some officers of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) working under the supervision of DCP Tunji Disu and ACP Bode Ojajuni, who is in charge of Area ‘A’ Command covering Ikoyi, where the event took place.
ACP Ojajuni told our correspondent in a chat that CP Odumosu is reputable for policing with a human face, an act he expresses effortlessly and professionally, thus making it a natural cause encouraged by supervisors to their operatives on various policing beats.
The officers had seen a man in distress at about 3am on Friday, when they were on normal patrol of their beat around Ikoyi.
The police officers approached the man and asked where he was headed at that time during a lockdown.
Looking obviously troubled, the man told the officers that his wife was in labour and that he had been looking for a vehicle for some time to no avail.
The officers hurriedly got him into their patrol vehicle after informing their Monitor at Area ‘A’ Command.
They drove him to his residence and took him and his wife to a hospital in Obalende area, Lagos, where the woman was delivered of her baby.
The officers gladly went back to check on the family the day after.
