The Apapa and Tin-can Island Ports will continue to operate even as Lagos State is on lock-down for the next two weeks, the Nigerian Ports Authority(NPA) has said.
Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari had in a national broadcast on Sunday, directed that the Lagos seaports remained operational, being key entry ports for cargoes.
To the effect, the NPA assured stakeholders of its commitment to ensure operations at the ports continue unhindered.
The Authority said safety procedures, which would guarantee the well-being and security of stakeholders and staff have been put in place and all are advised to kindly comply with directives of port officials.
The NPA charged all other government agencies responsible for smooth operations in the ports to be at their respective duty posts to discharge their functions in line with the presidential directive of maintaining operational functions at the Lagos ports.
