The National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) on Monday disclosed its donation of five million Naira to the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and another five million Naira to the Lagos State Government (LASG) as part of its corporate social responsibilities in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a statement, the General Manager Corporate Affairs at NIWA, Tayo Fadile, said that besides the monetary support, NIWA has also urged Nigerians to obey government’s directives on COVID-19,
saying it is the only way to restore sanity and ensure safety and well-being of everybody in the country.
He said the Managing Director of NIWA, Dr. George Moghalu, also directed that NIWA’s Ferry terminals, Dockyards, River ports, Jetties, Water Crafts, Barges and Tug boats nationwide should be sanitized and the highest level of hygiene maintained.
