Maritime LookBook: Water hyacinth and other marine environment pollutants

Thanks to conservationist, Raynus Ebiegberi, for helping us create this edition of the Maritime LookBook with a collection of photographs documenting the movement of the water hyacinth early this week.

Around this time of the year, waterways across Akassa coastal area of Bayelsa State, experience the peculiar invasion by water hyacinth. Of course they come with loads of other pollutants, especially plastic waste that are trapped within them. It is also not uncommon to see plastic soups within the mangrove area.
